Jim Gott and Bill Mallory
Royal Mfg Co. LP
With a combined service of 115 years
with the same company, Jim Gott, vice
president, and Bill Mallory, president,
have retired from Royal Mfg Co. LP.
They led a dedicated team of fellow
employees and were instrumental in
taking a small 10-employee company
to a well-respected independent
compounder known throughout the
industry and throughout the world.
They departed Royal shortly after
much of the marketing and manufacturing assets were sold, including
the Royal brand, knowing they had
built a quality company respected by
customers, suppliers and peers.
Jim started working part time at the
age of 15. He served two years in the U.S.
Navy and worked while attending college. Bill started part-time during college,
joining his parents, the former owners.
He served two years in the U.S. Army.
Jim and Bill are looking forward to
seeing their many friends and colleagues
at the 2019 ILMA Annual Meeting.
QUAKER CHEMICAL, HOUGHTON
INTERNATIONAL TO COMBINE

Quaker Chemical Corp. and Houston
International received approval from
the U.S. Federal Trade Commission
to combine.
According to Quaker Chemical, this
is the final approval required, which
was subject to divestiture of certain

product lines comprising around 3%
of combined company revenue. That
divestiture was concurrent with the close
of the deal in early August.

ExxonMobil Chemical Synthetics
is raising its production capacity of
low-viscocity polyalphaolefin (PAO)
synthetic basestocks, according to a
company news release.
"Investing in our production facilities
and supply chain capabilities allows us
to stay at the forefront of the basestocks
industry and meet our customers'
long-term ambitions as they grow their
business," said Hesham Omar, vice
president of ExxonMobil Synthetics.
Much of the increase in low-viscosity
PAO production is coming from its
manufacturing facilities in France,
which are producing 105 kilotons per
year in plant capacity.
CRODA ACQUIRES REWITEC

Croda International Plc has acquired
REWITEC®, a specialist in improving
efficiency and longevity of wind turbines
and machinery through its nanoparticleand microparticle-based additives,
according to a Croda news release.
"We are delighted to bring the products and expertise of REWITEC into
the business," said Maarten Heybroek,
president of Croda Performance
Technologies. "With their specialty
ingredients offering high-performance
and sustainable benefits in use, they
are a natural fit."
All REWITEC employees will
become part of the team in Croda

The Savant Group unveiled a sneak
peek of its new global headquarters,
set to be built in Midland, Michigan,
at its 50th anniversary celebration.
The $10 million investment will
house Savant Labs, Tannas Co., King
Refrigeration, the Institute of Materials of the Savant Group, the Center
for Quality Assurance and a new
machine shop. It will include laboratory testing, manufacturing, research,
technical training and administrative
space for more than 85 employees.
The new global headquarters will allow
for an anticipated 40% increase in job
creation over the next several years.
"This is an exciting time for us as we
unveil our new headquarters in the
year of our 50th anniversary," said
Savant Group President Rebecca Cox.
"We have come a long way since Ted
Selby started Savant Labs in 1969 as
a materials-consulting firm. It truly
shows the dedication and hard work
of our employees and is a significant
milestone in pursuit of our goal to
continuously improve our service to
our growing global customer base."
The new 53,000-square-foot
building will be constructed on a
30-acre site. The campus will embrace
the building's adjacent wetlands by
including nature trails where possible.
