While any possibly updated post-COVID-19 entry

all visitors entering Nigeria to have a yellow fever
certificate will remain. A yellow fever vaccination can
be obtained from a travel clinic or hospital in the home
country. The yellow fever vaccination must be administered at least 10 days before traveling to Nigeria.
Private health care is generally good in Lagos,
including hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, general
practitioners, dentists, and specialists. Wealthy
Nigerians, however, still tend to go to the U.K.
for more complicated medical procedures. Health
care insurance and evacuation coverage are

essential; although medical treatment is available,
in the event of complications or an emergency,
treatment in the U.K. or South Africa may be
required. Most hospitals require patients to pay
in cash immediately and then later file a claim on
their medical insurance.
Medical checkups and advice on vaccinations and
any chronic medication should be conducted prior to
moving to Lagos.
Tap water in Lagos is not suitable for drinking.
Bottled or filtered water is widely available, and
arrangements can be made for supplies to be delivered.
Malaria is endemic in Nigeria. Precautions are recommended to prevent being bitten by mosquitoes.
