WORLDWIDE ERC ® RESEARCH'S GLOBAL MOVEMENT STUDY
ENABLES KEY BENCHMARKING DURING AND AFTER COVID-19
When business, HR, and talent mobility resume their
rapid transformation, will you be ready?
The mobility industry may still be coming out of
a collective global disruption due to the COVID-19
pandemic, but recovery and rapid resumption on a
transformative trajectory rely on accurate and informative data points.
Earlier this year, Worldwide ERC® Research
launched its Global Movement Study, a live database of
organizations' mobility programs and policies, with
initial results made available in April 2020 for corporate HR talent mobility professionals.
The database supports a robust benchmarking
platform featuring information on more than 1,000
policies for more than 50,000 mobile employees. It
contains more than 3.6 billion data points that enable
users to examine every type of global mobility assignment, policy, and practice across the entire spectrum
of geographic regions, industries, company sizes, and
programs, according to Worldwide ERC® Research.
The database also allows users to glean information
about key pre-, during-, and post-move services;
approaches to taxation, remuneration, and other
employee benefits; housing, cultural training, family
support, and other issues; and how to maximize the
effectiveness of mobility programs.

Study participants gain complimentary access to the
database of global results through the benchmarking
platform. Purchase of a Premier Access subscription
offers users the additional ability to dynamically filter
results across 262,656 possible combinations for customized peer benchmarking data sets based on criteria
such as industry, headquarters location, organization
revenue, head count, job level or employment status,
and voluntary or company-initiated moves.
"As others in the field can testify, it's an ongoing
challenge to effectively benchmark the myriad of
policy types that our company has designed to meet
business needs," says Roxanne Stehlik, GMS, senior
global mobility specialist at Akamai Technologies.
Worldwide ERC® Research recognized the magnitude of this challenge and developed the database to
answer the need. "The key to benefiting from data is
to ask the right questions," notes Karen Cygal, senior
vice president, product strategy and development,
for Worldwide ERC®. "Those questions inevitably
lead to new ones. For the first time, users of the tool
are empowered to benchmark their policies and
programs based on data they choose and to refine the
results to answer follow-on questions."
