Mobility - July 2020 - 43

Technology certainly makes
the process easier and more
efficient in many ways, but there
are still some things that can't,
and shouldn't, be automated.

our sales associates and our brokerage through locally
sourced, company-generated business. We all have
extensive personal and professional networks, and
being a source of business for our sales associates and
brokers will create agent and client loyalty and secure
our place in our community and our company.
Take a look at your company culture, demographics, and marketplace. What programs can be
developed or expanded that set you apart from your
competitors? Think about how you, as an employee
or owner of a real estate firm, can use connections
in your company or your own sphere to identify
opportunities and develop niche programs and
services. How can you make the real estate process
easier, safer, and more personal? How can you solve
a problem you may not know exists because you
aren't the one feeling the pain? How can you tap into
companies, groups, or associations that have a loyal
following, and harness that loyalty? Make the most of
affiliated partners, sources of business, and network
brokers to help determine where new opportunities
may be. Think about ways we can work together for
the benefit of all.

Ease the Pressure

Relocation directors are already highly organized
and focused on customer service, and most can easily

transition into handling new lines of business. They
know the market and the culture of their companies.
Our efforts to seek out new opportunities will assist
with agent recruiting and retention, bulk up the
bottom line, and help reduce dependency on the real
estate agents to be the primary source of business.
There is a lot of noise in the industry today, and
broker owners have immense pressure on them. Now
is the time to rethink how we factor into the future of
our company by bringing a different dimension to the
organization. In the process, you might just stumble
upon a unicorn. Instead of being perceived as those
who take referral fees, relocation professionals will
be heralded as those who bring unique opportunities
and solutions never before seen in the organization. M
