Strategy 1: Teams that chose this flowing course had the fewest
discrimination challenges to deal with. Handlers had to watch for Strategy
3 Strate y 3 off-courses going from the #3 teeter to the #4 tunnel, because
the Apprppr. x. yardage = 125 yards A oxo yardage = 125 yards 9 A-frame was
inviting. From the #5 weaves to tunnel #6, handlers also had to be careful
because there was the potential for the dog to take the other unwanted
tunnel, which would have him going 8 the wrong direction over the dogwalk
or take up valuable time doing an extra tunnel obstacle. For most, the
toughest part of this 10 course was the turn from the #6 tunnel to the #7
dogwalk since 6 5 some dogs were inclined to go back into the tunnel. This
course also provided the least amount of yardage between obstacles. 7
Strategy 2: One way to save time and distance is by taking advantage of
sequences where it is possible to flip a dog from a tunnel to a contact
obstacle. Teams that chose this course saved time with three
short-distance flips: from the #3 A-frame to tunnel 4 #4, from tunnel #6
to the #7 dogwalk, and from the #7 dogwalk 2 1 to tunnel #8; but they
ended up using some of their saved time 11 getting from #11 to the finish
line. This course also created many obstacle discriminations and handlers
had to really work to avoid 3 an off-course and wasted time. Handlers that
did not step back S F from the #3 A-frame soon enough to present tunnel #4
did not successfully complete the flip into the tunnel and their dogs went
back up the A-frame. For those that did complete this maneuver Strategy 3:
This course was the least desirable of the common successfully, the
challenge from the #5 weave poles to tunnel courses. It was somewhat
choppy in the beginning and handlers #6 was minimized since the handler
was on the side where the had to have a dog that would have a good entry
at speed to the dog checked in. Some handlers had problems with the flip
from #3 weave poles, since the distance from #2 to #3 was a long 13 tunnel
#6 to the #7 dogwalk, but more problems were caused by yards. A lot of time
was lost by a few who had to rework this the race to get to the end of the
dogwalk to bring the dog back weave entry multiple times. Yardage was
saved by the flips from to the entrance of tunnel #8. The #9, #10, and #11
sequence was the #5 A-frame to the #6 tunnel and from the #8 tunnel to the
#9 handled fairly easily by most competitors, although some did have
dogwalk. Handlers also saved time and distance with the ability trouble
getting the preferred entrance to tunnel #10. Getting to to take the dog
from the #9 dogwalk to tunnel #10, located under the finish line ate up a
lot of time due to distance and also due to the dogwalk. Handlers
experienced the same challenges as those time wasted when some handlers
had to work to pull their dogs who chose strategy 1, but their course was
longer. off the #1 weaves and the small tunnel in the corner. | December
