Village of Hadley resident Gary Hinkle also owned a
motorcycle. And when his wife, Bonnie, insisted he get rid
of it, he offered a compromise: a sunset red Slingshot.
The Hinkles and the Courtwrights have become riding
pals, comrades with a single passion in common: the love
of the open road via their Slingshots.
"We take rides, go for meals and just have a good time,"

sporty road beasts are relatively new on the market, as the
first models (2015) were introduced in 2014. Consumers
had trouble getting their hands on them initially,
Christine said. Some had to wait as long as six months
due to a backlog of orders flooding dealerships. Still, there
are a few whizzing around the area, and the Hinkles and
the Courtwrights are eager to find the owners. They're
looking to expand their riding circle by starting a club for
fellow Slingshot motorists.
"These things certainly are conversation pieces,"
Christine said. "Wherever we go, the cameras come out."
