IASIU's board award went to Larry
Henning and John McHale in acknowledgement of their service as co-coordinators of the charity golf events. Both
are past presidents of IASIU, and they
have planned, organized, and executed
the charity golf tournament for 21 years.
During their service, they raised several
hundred thousand dollars for various
charities.
Public Service Award:
Reed Kartchner
Utah Insurance Fraud Division's Reed
Kartchner received IASIU's 2015
Public Service Award for a two-year
investigation of two Summit County,
Utah, auto rings as part of his job as
lead investigator.
The ringleader of the auto ring enlisted more than a dozen others in his staged
Public Service Award: Reed Kartchner
accident scheme and utilized his position
at work, church, and the community to
entice others to participate in his scheme.
The auto ring involved more than 25
different vehicles, and a dozen co-con-
spirators filed at least 65 false auto accident claims. The defendants sought over
$200,000 in insurance claims and received
over $100,000 in payments as a result of
these fictitious accident claims.
