Petronas Licenses LyondellBasell's Hostalen ACP for HDPE Plant at RAPID Complex...
Petronas (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) has chosen LyondellBasell's Hostalen Advanced Cascade Process (ACP) for a 400,000-metric ton/
year high-density polyethylene (HDPE) unit to be built at the Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID) complex
in Pengerang, Johor State, Malaysia. The $27-billion RAPID project, which was announced in 2012, will include 7.7 million metric
tons/year of petrochemical production capacity. In September 2016, the company said the project was on track to start up in 2019.
Petronas has already licensed LyondellBasell's Spherizone and Spheripol process technologies for PP plants at the RAPID complex.

Anellotech Announces Breakthrough in Extending Catalyst Lifetime...
Anellotech announced that it has developed proprietary technology to extend catalyst lifetime in its Bio-TCat™ process for low cost
conversion of biomass into valuable aromatic chemicals and renewable fuels. The new MinFree™ technology reduces mineral (ash)
content of biomass feedstocks, thereby enabling economic catalyst lifetimes. Anellotech has partnered with leading technology
providers IFPEN/Axens for process development and Johnson Matthey for catalyst technology. "MinFree is an important development
needed to advance our Bio-TCat process toward commercialization as it contributes to our ability to achieve attractive returns even
in a low oil price environment, whether licensees opt for using Bio-TCat products as renewable fuels or chemicals," stated David
Sudolsky, Anellotech President and CEO. "The recent demonstration of MinFree at ton scale was a significant accomplishment."

About the Authors
David Jackson is a fifth year Materials Science PhD student at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He works under
the supervision of Prof. Thomas F. Kuech in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, investigating
the applications of powder atomic layer deposition in the fields of catalysis and Li-ion batteries. He has a total of 15
publications with 4 first author credits. He obtained a BS in chemistry from Carleton College.
George Huber is the Harvey Spangler Professor of Chemical Engineering at University of Wisconsin-Madison. His
research focus is on developing new catalytic processes for the production of renewable liquid fuels and chemicals.
For the past two years Thomson Reuters listed George as a "highly cited researcher" a title given to "the "world's most
influential scientific minds" who rank in the top 1% most cited. Biofuels Digest has ranked him as one of the top 100
people in bioenergy for the past 5 years. He obtained his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from University of Wisconsin-Madison
(2005). He obtained his B.S. (1999) and M.S.(2000) degrees in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University.
