NEW’N’NOTED Sealant protects teats during cow’s dry period Eliminate contamination threat Formulated with chlorine dioxide for optimum protection, BouMatic’s Gladiator Super Dry teat sealant safely and effectively seals and protects dry cow teats for four to seven days as part of your dry cow program. Applying it at dry-off protects teats from infection and helps prevent quarters from leaking milk. The alcohol-based system quickly and safely dries while chlorine dioxide provides long-acting protection. Its bright blue colour is easy to spot. It goes on smoothly to create an even sealant barrier. Once dry, it forms a film that seals the teat-end from bacteria. Dried seals can be removed by rubbing prior to milking. Formulated with Aloe and Vitamin E, it provides extra teat conditioning during the dry-off period. Reapplying Gladiator before calving will protect teats from infection. GEA IQ milking unit T he GEA Farm Technologies IQ milking unit, unlike conventional milking units, is subdivided into four guide chambers. Milk from each quarter is kept separate and channeled quickly into the milk outlet. There is no threat of teat-to-teat cross-contamination. Flexible unit attachment lets you attach all four liners at once or one at a time. There is no need to squeeze tubes to shut off vacuum. Improved vacuum stability increases flow rates, and the sharper angle of the milk chamber speeds flow to the milk line. The automatic vacuum shifting system makes for virtually noise-free milking. The patented liner design and liner attachment bracket make liner replacements easier and quicker. Shells, liners and brackets can be pre-assembled, reducing change-out times. The slim design is harder to kick-off. Greater flexibility and optimum weight mean a perfect fit for virtually any udder shape, and better unit alignment means fewer unit slips and squawks.
