Presentations will discuss recent upheavals in the international political and economic climate by focusing on wealth inequality across the globe and the ways it erodes democracy. Keynote speakers include cultural critic Slavoj Zizek and multimedia artist Martha Rosler. The first day runs from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and the second from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It takes place at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, 566 LaGuardia Place, at Washington Square. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 13 The Helix Center for Interdisciplinary Investigation at the New York Psychoanalytic Society & Institute will present WHY DO ECONOMISTS DISAGREE?, a discussion about philosophical divergences and convergences among economists. This marks the first time that the artist, known for her hits “The Way We Were,” “People” and “Evergreen,” among others, will perform for the public in her home borough.
