HIGH ALTITUDE TIPS
When visiting Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region, be sure to give your body the time it needs to adjust to the altitude.
• Stay below 7,000 feet the first day (the city of Colorado Springs is 6,035 feet above sea level). • Work your way up to higher altitudes by about 1,000 feet per day. • Avoid strenuous exercise your first day here. • Drink lots of water before and during your visit. • Minimize alcohol and tobacco. • When packing liquids, screw the tops on tight – they sometimes will pop open as you increase your altitude. If you follow these suggestions, you are sure to enjoy each day in the Pikes Peak region!
