Objective: The tenth annual IEEE International Conference on Automation Science
and Engineering (IEEE CASE 2014), sponsored by the IEEE Robotics and
Automation Society (RAS), will be held from August 18 to 22, 2014, in Taipei,
Taiwan. The conference theme is ³Frontiers of Intelligent Automation Science
and Technology for Better Quality of /LIH´. IEEE CASE is an offspring of the
IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering (www.ieee.org/t-ase),
represents the flagship automation conference of the IEEE RAS, and constitutes the
primary forum for cross-industry and multidisciplinary research in automation. Its
goal is to provide a broad coverage and dissemination of foundational research in
automation among researchers, academics, and practitioners.
Program: The technical program of IEEE CASE 2014 will consist of
tutorials/workshops, keynote/plenary speeches, automation forums, and oral/poster
presentations. Papers describing original work on abstractions, algorithms, theories,
methodologies, and case studies are invited. Accepted and presented papers will be
published in the conference proceedings, and submitted for inclusion into IEEE
Xplore® as well as other Abstracting and Indexing (A&I) databases.

Topics: CASE 2014 invites submissions of high-quality research papers describing
original and unpublished work. The topics include but are not limited to:
Foundations of Automation; Agriculture; Life Science and Health Care; Automation
in Meso, Micro, and Nano-scale; Manufacturing Automation; Discrete Event
Systems; Scheduling and Optimization; Mechatronics; Industrial Informatics;
Sustainable Production; Logistics and Supply Chain Management; Networked and
Control Systems; Power and Energy Systems; Smart Buildings; Big Data and Data
Mining; Cloud Computing for Manufacturing Automation; Automation for Machine

Conference Venue: The conference will be held in the Fullon Hotel Danshui
)LVKHUPHQ¶V Wharf, located in Danshui (Tamsui) Dist., New Taipei City. The 5-star

Mountain and the Danshui River mouth, especially at sunset. Nearby scenic spots
