Park you will be escorted by camels
and llamas to meet water buffalo and
wildebeest, serenaded by budgies and
pheasants on your way to feed a giraffe
at eye level.
The Fields of Gold Farm Trail
through the Shenandoah Valley dishes
out animal excitement alongside animal
products. Meet the chickens that lay
the eggs, the cows that give us milk for
cheese and butter and so much more.
Sway and sing under the stars when
you snag a ticket for a performance at
Lime Kiln Theater, Virginia's premier
outdoor concert venue. Shows for no
more than 650 people dot the calendar
each summer. Concessions are a from

A nostalgic 1950s pastime-also under
the stars- is alive and well at Hull's
Drive-In, one of the only remaining
drive-in movie theaters in Virginia.
Big-screen acting isn't the only kind
of acting you can witness in Lexington
and Buena Vista. At Washington and
Lee University, Lenfest Center
for the Arts hosts student and faculty
productions, visiting troupes and
community performances. The Reeves
Ceramics Museum showcased pieces
spanning some 4,000 years, as well as
original art by Louise Herreshoff Reeves,
an early 20th c. American painter noted
for her Impressionist and Fauvist works.
The university's Watson Galleries
showcases the Senshin'an Japanese Tea
Room.
At Southern Virginia University,
Chandler Hall is home to performances
from SVU students.
One of the " can't miss " shows in
Lexington is the Virginia Military
Institute Corps of Cadets Dress Parade.
One of our largest family and music
venues is Glen Maury Park in Buena
Vista, where annual events include
Maury River Fiddlers Convention, Beach
Music Festival, Labor Day Festival and
Nothin' Fancy Bluegrass Festival.
The fashions of fun in Lexington,
Buena Vista and Rockbridge County
are broad and deep, and range from the
classical to the whimsical, with lots in
