In fact, Erlanger has been part of this community since 1891, maintaining a steady commitment to care for its neighbors since day one. More than a quarter of a million people in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and North Carolina are served by Erlanger each year. That’s half the population of the region and about one out of every two of our friends and neighbors. Erlanger has also grown dramatically from the single downtown Baroness campus to ﬁve campuses and two community health centers. But this health system is so much more than buildings and patient rooms. Erlanger? Erlanger is a teaching hospital. As a teaching hospital, Erlanger does just about everything a major university does, such as foster a learning environment and attract renowned faculty and exceptional students from all over the world. And because of this designation, Erlanger tends to get important technologies ﬁrst, leading to more advanced healthcare and better outcomes for the community. in internal medicine, family practice, general surgery, obstetrics, orthopedics, plastic surgery and trauma.
