YOUR GUIDE TO A SWEETER LIFE
"My motto is, 'Life is short-make it sweet,' " says boardcertified neurologist Vamsy Jakkampudi, MD, the newest
addition to the neurology staff at UM Charles Regional
Medical Center.
At his practice in downtown La Plata, Dr. Jakkampudi
makes life sweeter-and better-for people with conditions
such as stroke, epilepsy, dementia or other adult neurological conditions.
"Initially I was studying ophthalmology, but I had a
rotation in neurology and that's when I really got fascinated with studying the brain," he says. He completed his
neurology residency at Virginia Commonwealth University
in Richmond, where he was chief resident, and completed
a clinical neurophysiology fellowship in epilepsy and neuromuscular disorders at VCU Medical Center.
Dr. Jakkampudi wants his patients to know that at each
appointment, he's never too busy to talk to them about
their questions and concerns. "Communication is the biggest key," he says.
