Completed in September, 2011, ZigBee Building Automation offers a global standard for interoperable products providing secure and reliable monitoring and control of commercial building systems. It is the only BACnet approved wireless mesh network standard for commercial buildings. It helps building owners, operators and tenants increase their energy savings and ensure the lowest lifecycle costs with this green and easy-to-install robust wireless network. ZigBee Certified products for ZigBee Building Automation products are available now and contribute toward satisfying credits in the categories of Sustainable Sites, Energy and Atmosphere, Indoor Environmental Quality under the US Green Building Council’s LEED green building certification program. With ZigBee Building Automation, it's now possible to gain control over more building types, previously unreachable rooms or sensitive areas, and even extend existing BACnet building automation systems.

ZigBee Input Device – Flexible, powerful and

ZigBee Smart Energy is the world's leading standard for interoperable products that monitor, control, inform and automate the delivery and use of energy and water. An estimated 50 million smart meters are in deployment using this standard and utilities are starting their in-home roll-outs, giving consumers access to new energy information and control options. It helps create greener homes by giving consumers the information and automation needed to easily reduce their consumption and save money, too. In July, 2011, ZigBee Smart Energy version 1.1 was introduced, adding several important features including dynamic pricing enhancements, tunneling of other protocols, prepayment features, over-the-air updates and guaranteed backwards compatibility with all of the ZigBee Certified ZigBee Smart Energy products using version 1.
ZigBee Input Device is in development and will define innovative and easy-to-use mice, keyboards, touchpads, wands and other input devices used with computers, set-top boxes and other consumer electronic devices. The standard offers native support of popular multi-touch and gesture commands, allowing manufacturers to deliver the most feature-rich products for their consumers. It also features the ability to define special functions and enhanced performance beyond the standard behavior of a mouse, keyboard or similar input device. Once ZigBee Certified products are available for this standard, it will give consumers the flexibility and freedom to use their devices from greater distances or even from another room because operation is not limited to line of sight. These products will also enjoy green benefits thanks to its energy-efficient design that helps devices run longer on batteries, when compared to infrared technology, and reduces the total number of batteries used, and disposed of, during the device's lifetime. ZigBee Input Device will also operate with existing ZigBee Remote Control-equipped HDTVs, settop boxes and other devices as well as with existing computers.
