With consumers continuing to treat themselves after the stress of the pandemic, butter and cream marketers find
their products to be in demand. Many shoppers want to recreate the coffee house experience in their own kitchen.
Others seek out flavors that provide culinary adventure. Plant-based and non-dairy varieties appeal to vegans and
those with lactose sensitivities.
Flavored coffee creamers
Tim Hortons Coffee Creamers debuted this summer in three iconic
Tim's flavors: Chocolate Dip Donut (10% milkfat), Double Double (13.5%
milkfat) and Vanilla Dip Donut (10% milkfat). The refrigerated creamers
are made with 100% real Canadian dairy and come in 750-mL plastic
bottles.
European-style compound butters
M.A.D. Foods, which is short for Marché aux Délices and translates to
" delight market " is all about making animal fat the star of the kitchen.
The New York City-based business has added lemon herb garlic to its
Aux Délices des Bois brand of European-style compound butters. A
3-oz retail cup sells for about $6.99.
Butter blends
New Kerrygold Butter Blends stay true to the Kerrygold tradition of
producing flavorful, creamy and all-natural dairy products, hailing
straight from 14,000 small Irish family farms that provide milk for
Kerrygold products. The three varieties came to the US in July and
have been in national distribution since September. Bell Pepper &
Garden Herbs includes the flavors of paprika, oregano, basil, onions,
garlic and bell pepper. Chive & Onion contains the herby flavors of
chive, onion and parsley. Sundried Tomato & Basil combines dried
tomatoes, basil, oregano, thyme, onions and garlic.
