The Department of Animal Sciences invites applicants to apply for a tenure track meat science extension position (80%
extension, 20% research). Major responsibilities will involve
developing outstanding, statewide educational programs
related to meat science, meat processing, and food safety
for meat packers, meat processors, dieticians, youth and
consumers. This position will serve as a vital educational
provider for Wisconsin's county Extension agents and other
relevant State Extension specialists. The incumbent must
develop a nationally recognized, independent meat science
research program that complements their Extension mission.
A successful program must be funded extramurally. Applicant must have a Ph.D. degree in Animal Science, Food Science, or related field. Area of specialization must be in meat
science and technology. Further information on this position

Application materials must include a resume, a complete
list of publications, graduate transcripts, and summary of
past outreach and research activities and accomplishments.
Provide a statement of plans for developing educational
programs related to meat science, meat processing, and
food safety for meat packers, meat processors, dieticians,
youth and consumers. Application must also include a statement describing your initial research interests. Names and
contact information of three people willing to write a letter of
recommendation must also be provided. All correspondence
