Around the Industry HONORS/AWARDS the 155-unit Carriage House in Las Vegas, Nevada. Managed by Outrigger Lodging Services, the Carriage House is currently used as both a hotel and vacation ownership property. Built in the 1970s, the nine-story building is located one block from the Strip, between the MGM Grand and the Planet Hollywood Hotel and in close proximity to the new City Center project to open in December. Gail Huff, ASID, NCIDQ, (pictured) is the senior designer from Robb & Stucky Interiors assigned to this project. The ﬁrst step, the design process, was completed after meetings with the property’s general manager, Amy Lowell, to determine the needs of the client and their guests. Details have been settled on construction renovation and selected styles, colors, and necessary furnishings. The style will be “very organic and contemporary, creating an environment of elegant serenity with supple fabrics and rich espresso wood tones.” HONORS/AWARDS vacations to more than 270,000 owners at more than 70 resort properties. Club Intrawest Named Top Employer The Registry Collection Exchange Programme Wins Prestigious OPP Industry Award Club Intrawest has been acknowledged as one of British Columbia’s Top 55 Employers for 2010. Entering its 10th year, the competition recognizes employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces; the winners are selected from a pool of approximately 73,000 employers. Organizers consider a variety of criteria ranging from physical environment to development opportunities to culture and recognition programs. Club Intrawest was recognized as having some of the most progressive and forward-thinking programs available to their employees. The Registry Collection® program has been recognized with the 2009 Overseas Property Professional (OPP) Industry Award in the Best Fractional Service category. Representatives from International Consortium of Real Estate Associations (ICREA), Association of International Property Professionals (AIPP), National Association of Estate Agents NAEA International, and the Florida Association of Realtors were among the judges, who agreed the standard of entrants was much higher than last year. The Registry Collection team considers the OPP Industry Award one of the most prestigious in the industry. The Registry Collection pioneered the concept of luxury leisure property exchange when it launched in the United States eight years ago. Wyndham Vacation Ownership Celebrates 20 Years Of Worldmark By Wyndham Wyndham Vacation Ownership celebrated a milestone anniversary this past October. Commemorating 20 years in business, WorldMark by Wyndham has successfully grown from a small product portfolio in Oregon to more than 70 resort properties throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the South Paciﬁc, and now has more than 270,000 owners. WorldMark by Wyndham (then known as Trendwest Resorts) started in October 1989 with its ﬁrst sale in Kirkland, Washington, and a limited selection of vacation options. In 2000, WorldMark welcomed its 100,000th owner to the WorldMark, The Club family, adding numerous resort properties around the globe; in addition to resort development, the company also added a variety of owner beneﬁts, such as expansive owner education programs and on-line booking capabilities. In 2002, WorldMark by Wyndham was acquired by Cendant Corporation, which would spin off into four separate publicly traded companies in 2006. One year later, as part of the WVO family, WorldMark would celebrate eclipsing 250,000 owner families.
