Polikos Aster Chapter CJ8,

Chapter Vice President Mike
Houvardas presented $500 on behalf
of Chapter CJ8 to the local Children's
Wish Foundation of Canada, March
23, 2017. The charity grants wishes to
children diagnosed with life-threating
illnesses. The chapter also participated
in the 100-year anniversary celebration
of the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox
Community of Winnipeg.

AHEPA Pericles Chapter HJ10, Holargos, Greece
A tragic car accident that led to the deaths of four individuals,
including a three-year-old, led to Chapter HJ10's involvement to
raise the importance of traffic safety through the organization
of a traffic education course, held by RSI, for the students of
the Agios Georgios Primary School in Viotia. The chapter also
participated in "Road Safety Week" in March 2017. Moreover,
Brother Notis Paraskevopoulos, a traffic engineer and Board of
Directors member of the Road Safety Institute "Panos Mylonas,"
was interviewed by television and radio media outlets to provide an expert's perspective on the dire situation about traffic
accidents in Greece. He stated Greece has more than 5,000 road
accidents per year that lead to more than five deaths, 20 left
disabled, and 60 others injured daily. Most victims are between
the ages of 15 and 29.
