BY MAT THEW HALL 68 boutiquedesign.com JULY + AUGUST 2013 Resorts’ in-house design team strove to create a crisp, clean and refreshing look. That approach is reflected in this vignette within the hotel’s lobby. It’s anchored by two main elements: a Sequoia console table and a painting by Jerard Ripley. Cast from an unearthed tree trunk, the sculptural piece serving as the base of the table was molded out of resin and finished in silver leafing, giving it a subtle luster. Ripley’s painting—part of a rotating exhibit featuring a variety of artists at the hotel—is titled “Vocal Inflections,” and is a visual representation of sound waves in motion. H .C . P.
