1 Both days of the fair featured crowded aisles and busy displays.
Pre-show networking started with a design tour whose two stops
were 2 the new Mondrian Park Avenue and 3 MOXY Times Square;
Later that day came the BDNY Opening Reception at 583 Park

Boutique Design New York (BDNY), held last November at
the Javits Center. The two-day trade fair and conference
drew a record 7,200 attendees, and its exhibit space grew
as well, to 126,000 sq. ft., showcasing nearly 700 manufacturers and marketers of furniture, fixtures, lighting, seating,
wallcoverings, accessories, fabrics and floorcoverings and
other design elements for hospitality interiors.
"We realized an increase in hospitality ownership group
and brand participation this year, reinforcing the significance of BDNY for the global hospitality design community," says Michelle Finn, president of Hospitality Media
Group (HMG), which produces BDNY and BDwest, a sister
trade fair held each spring in Los Angeles. "We anticipate
continued attendee growth and an influx of international
visitors next year and beyond."
The latest BDNY drew kudos from both sides of the trade
fair aisle. Said attendee Clodagh, the founder, principal and
ceo of her eponymous New York-based design studio, "I love
that BDNY collects up a large group of like-minded people in
love with design in hospitality. It's a celebration for nomads
like myself. There has not yet been a year that I haven't been
to BDNY and fallen in love with a new vendor that I've subsequently added to our curated studio Clodagh's Choice list."
Similarly, exhibitor Michael Freedman, vice president of
sales at Innovations in Wallcoverings Inc., said BDNY "has
without doubt become the premier hospitality show in the
United States, if not worldwide. We saw designers from
every corner of the U.S. and from Australia and Europe."
