Todd Godwin Cole passed away peacefully in Coral Gables, Florida, on February 5, 2011. Born on 5 March 1921 in Coushatta, Louisiana, and educated at LSU, Cole was honored as a distinguished alumnus and earned advanced degrees in law and accountancy. A noted businessman, with special expertise in finance and aviation, during his career spanning more than 65 years, he held several positions, including Chairman and CEO of CIT Financial, CFO and Director of Delta Airlines, Vice- Chairman of Eastern Airlines and Vice-Chairman and Director of Hawaiian Airlines. In addition, he served on the Board of Directors of various NYSE companies, including Kaiser Ventures LLC and Primerica Corp. Cole will forever be remembered by his family and friends as a loving husband, deeply devoted to his wife, Pamela, adoring grandfather, great gentleman and scholar, a loyal friend, as well as an esteemed and affectionate mentor to many of the next generation. A greatly respected citizen of the world, for his dedication and tireless contributions, achieved with such responsibility and devotion, Cole has made a vital difference to his community. He was truly a Renaissance man and a Southern gentleman and will be sorely missed.
