In 2015, the festival will run from May 23 through June 28, and will feature a new production of Rossini's The Barber of Seville (co-produced with Opera Philadelphia), Puccini's La rondine, the American premiere of Handel's Richard the Lionheart, and the ﬁrst new American staging of Tobias Picker's Emmeline since its world premiere almost 20 years ago. Opera Theatre of Saint Louis performs at the 987-seat Loretto-Hilton Center, which offers unparalleled access to some of the world's greatest singers. Situated on the grounds of Webster University, the Center is transformed into a garden paradise for the festival. Picnickers come early to dine on the lawn or beneath tents, and after performances the audience and artists mingle for cocktails under the stars and toast a brilliant evening of opera. Opera Theatre is also unique in that it performs all of its productions in English, so the storytelling on stage is clear to audiences throughout the evening. The celebrated St. Louis Symphony serves as the orchestra for each performance.
