Named a Top 25 Arts Destination by American Style magazine, Eureka Springs is home to about 2,200 residents, of which about 400 are working artists. Victorian architecture hugs the cliffs of this mountain town, and galleries, cafes, and boutiques line the winding streets. Unsurprisingly, gallery-walk events abound. At Terra Studios, on the eastern edge of Fayetteville, artists pinch and mold glowing molten glass until it cools to blue in the shape of their signature Bluebird of Happiness. A whimsical world awaits, with walking paths, fountains, gardens, ponds, murals, sculptures, a pottery gallery, and a labyrinth. All told, the gallery showcases more than 100 artists. Yet another ten artist studios and four galleries promote the visual arts at the Fayetteville Underground on the downtown square. Art patrons can visit with painters, photographers, and mixed media artists at work at their craft. Performing Arts But visual arts are only a slice of the scene. The ACO hosts more than 70 community theater and music events annually. Rogers Little Theater stages community shows in the Victory Theater, designed by architect A. O. Clarke in 1927, when it opened as the first motion-picture theater in the region.
