T This past June at their annual meeting in Atlanta, Mary Clapp, President of Stevens Forestry was named Consulting Forester of the Year by the Forest Landowners Association of America; an 80-year-old organization with over 3,000 members. Mary Clapp literally grew up in the forestry business. Her father, Irwin E. Stevens, founded Stevens Forestry in 1950. Mary received her B.S. in Forestry-Business from Louisiana Tech University in 1977 and worked as a forester for Crown Zellerbach Corp. and the Louisiana Forestry BEST FORESTRY Association before joining Stevens in 1989. The governor of Arkansas appointed Clapp to represent forestry consultants on the State of Arkansas Board of Registration for Foresters. She is a member and past chair of the Arkansas Chapter of the Association of Consulting Foresters and serves on the Louisiana Tech University Forestry School Advisory Board. Clapp has served as President of the Forest Landowners Association, President of the Forest Landowners Education Foundation and remains an active member of the board of directors. Like her father before her, Mary is mentoring her son, Eric Clapp in the family business. Warren Buffett once said, " Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree long ago. " We're sure that Mr. Stevens would be proud of the legacy he planted years ago. p www.GoElDorado.com 61http://www.GoElDorado.com
