Q: What positions are open for the 2020
election?
A: Four Director positions are open for 2020.

Q: What is the term of office?
A: The term is two years beginning immediately after
the election.

Q: Who is eligible to run for office?
A: Any regular member in good standing as defined
in IASIU's By-Laws, Article II, Section 1, Subsection A is
eligible to run.

Q: How is a member nominated?
A: Any regular member in good standing may be
nominated by another regular member in good
standing.
A: The nomination is sent to the chair of the Elections/
Nomination Committee by either e-mail or U.S. Mail.

Q: When are nominations accepted?
A: Nominations may be sent to the Chair at any time
prior to the cutoff date for the 2020 elections, which
is June 26, 2020.

Q: If nominated, what do I need to provide to
IASIU?
A: A position statement and digital photograph must
be sent to the Chair of the Elections/Nominations
Committee.
A: This will be used in various association publications
to inform members about your background and your
goals for the organization if you are elected.
A: This information will be posted on a bulletin board
outside the exhibit hall at the seminar.

Q: Can someone be nominated at the seminar
during the business meeting?
A: Yes, but the candidate's position statement and
photograph will not appear in the association's
publications or on the seminar bulletin board provided
for those nominated before the June 26, 2020,
deadline.

Q: What support should I expect from my
company if I am running for a position on the
board of directors?
A: It is vital to have your company support.
A: Hotel and meals are provided by IASIU at the board
meetings, but the airfare to the meeting is generally
provided by your company.
A: A time commitment is also required; each member
of the board is required to chair a committee, prepare
reports and attend the seminar and all board meetings.

Q: How often does the board meet? Where are
these meetings held?
A: The board meets four times a year.
A: One board meeting is held at the annual
conference, and the other three are at different
locations. The locations are selected and approved
by the full board.
A: There may be conference call meetings if voting
or decisions need to be made by the board at times
outside the regularly scheduled board meetings.

Q: If I am elected, what will my responsibilities
be?
A: Attend the four board meetings
A: Chair a committee and submit reports concerning
the committee activity
A: Assist at the seminar
A: Attend chapter meetings at chapters located in
your state and others when available
A: Other duties as assigned by the president
