is still nascent,
solutions are
plentiful to serve
customers in
these purposes.
Solutions Abound for
Integrators to Embrace
Health & Wellness Tech
Still slow to catch on in the CEDIA channel, manufacturers set
foundations for dealers to differentiate their portfolios covering
many pillars of the category. By Arlen Schweiger
AFTER SO MUCH was made of the category during
the Covid pandemic, wellness technologies still have
far to go before catching on in the custom integration
channel. Admittedly, one of the indicators is that CE Pro
only wound up with about a dozen integrators who filled
out responses to our Health & Wellness Deep Dive survey,
the first since a few years ago.
That being said, the lack of usable data does not mean
the category is lacking for solutions addressing its key pillars
such as indoor air quality, biophilic design, water purification,
soundscapes, digital art canvases, motorized shades,
circadian or human-centric lighting, and aging-in-place/
healthcare technology.

Regarding the latter, myriad manufacturers have provided
the CEDIA channel with programming, apps, and a variety of
LED fixtures to create such daily betterments to clients' lives
through technology. Hunter Douglas even introduced a form
of circadian design with its innovative Aura shade system.
CE Pro 100 integrator Global Wave Solutions was an early
adopter of Ketra lighting, which can deliver a wealth of ways
to design beneficial lighting systems. Now, the company is
launching FutureCare Solutions to deliver health solutions
for homes and assisted living facilities.
CEDIA had attempted to foster relationships with
emerging tech brands such as Bryte (smart beds), Immersive
Gym (home fitness), and Zuma (lighting/audio) via its Propel
cepro.com
