How is the Treasury/ Finance department organized? Is there a real dedicated treasurer? Could you briefly present your company? With annual sales exceeding $12 billion for fiscal year 2011, Parker Hannifin is the world's leading diversified manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems, providing precision-engineered solutions for a wide variety of commercial, mobile, industrial and aerospace markets. The company's products are vital to virtually everything that moves or requires control, including the Parker has a dedicated Treasurer. The five functional responsibilities of
the treasurer are: Treasury Management, Risk Management which is mostly insurance for Parker, Credit Management which is DSO and bad debt management, M&A and Investor Relations. My area of treasury is organized as one department in two locations (Cleveland and Luxembourg). Our responsibilities are in the areas of debt management, cash management, liquidity management, short term investments, FX management, managing the global bank relationship and act as a support function to our internal customers. Is treasury management based on a centralized or decentralized structure? Parker is typically a decentralized organisation. Local finance teams are responsible for local payments and disbursements and managing the local bank relationship. Corporate treasury has implemented a set of policies that our local finance teams
