TGS Buys Well Log Data
For Domestic Shale Plays
ASKER, NORWAY-TGS announces
it has purchased Petrophysical Solutions
Inc.'s U.S. onshore petrophysical log database and associated intellectual property.
These petrophysical interpretations,
derived from well log and core analysis
relationships in 1,400 wells in key unconventional basins, will be added to
TGS' data library. The company says the
high-quality interpretations will help customers reduce risks and increase production by optimizing landing zones, wellbore
trajectories and completion designs.
"This data acquisition supports critical
points in our ongoing strategy to provide
industry-leading basin and regional knowledge, prospect ranking and reservoir evaluation. Accurate parameters determined
from petrophysical analysis will make
our customers' completion programs more

Inc. and Providence Photonics LLC announce FLIR has made a strategic investment in Providence Photonics, which
develops software for quantifying invisible
gas emissions using FLIR Optical Gas
Imaging (OGI) cameras.
Providence's products include solutions for quantifying leaks, validating
leak surveys, detecting leaks autonomously and remotely, and monitoring
flare combustion efficiency, the companies describe. Noting the investment

communicating with the parent fractures,
protecting the parent well and increasing
the chance fractures will target new
reservoir rock.
