Panther Debuts Cameras To Secure Remote Sites
HOUSTON-The Panther Companies
announce a new line of virtual gate
guard and security solutions for monitoring
isolated locations, such as drilling
and production sites, transmission stations
and equipment yards.
The system uses high-definition cellular
or satellite security cameras to
provide remote monitoring, entrance
surveillance, entry access control and
visitor tracking, Panther describes. Each
location is monitored by a fully-staffed
command center that is open 24/7, the
company assures. It says the system
eliminates the need for a manned trailer
or around-the-clock security guards and
support systems, including water, sewer,
lighting and power hook-ups.
" The system combines several innovative
technologies-high-resolution cameras,
thermal sensing, satellite connectivity,
real-time monitoring and solar
panels-in one unique system, " says Garrow
Wessendorff, Panther's chief executive
officer. " We are conducting field
tests at several oil and gas drilling locations
in central Texas and are ready to
expand the system to any remote location
requiring security and surveillance. "
One operator testing the technology
on a rig site comments, " We were pleased
to see significant cost savings in deploying
this system. Our field testing has shown
not only decreased liabilities by removing
personnel from location but in some
cases lowering gate guard operating expense
by up to 35 percent. "
