the existing campus color

further intertwine the highperforming
envelope cladding
with the durable interior finish
materials as an intentional
overlap through the project,
cumulating with the intricate
courtroom woodwork
detailing, " he adds.
Stephenson Millwork
provided the engineering
and layouts for the wall
panels at the courtroom
headwalls to fit with lighting
fixtures and hidden doors.
Courtroom fixture engineering
and layouts were also
provided to coordinate with
locating electrical and data
connections.
Plain-sliced Cherry veneer,
and plain-sawn Cherry
lumber were used in door
slabs, running trim, and
finish-grade millwork. " Cherry
wood is a renewable resource
that is durable, workable,
and attractive in a myriad
of applications in function -
vertical, horizontal, or other
orientations, " notes Jones.
" Also, as a personal favorite
of mine, there is so much
depth in grain and color
variations, further brought-tolife
with natural and artificial
lighting refractions. The
woodwork jointing, reveals,
and patterns were influenced
by the proportions of the
high-pressure compact wood
veneer laminate wall panels,
warp-and-weft, interior and
exterior unified. "
Noteworthy
Elements
Wall panels at the
courtrooms' headwalls which
needed to allow for LED light
fixtures and hidden doors are
particularly noteworthy, says
Allen. Stephenson Millwork
provided the engineering and
layouts for the wall panels
at the courtroom headwalls.
" Also of note are the multilevel
judges' benches due
to matching platforms that
had to be constructed onsite
and ceiling panels that were
installed in a multi-story
lobby and the main stairway. "
The entire woodwork
package was intricate and
noteworthy in the differing
and detailed installations,
adds Jones. " We used
the woodwork in poetic
subtleties to activate the
design concepts in individual
