As we enter a new year in 2021, we would like to pause and say thank you to all our valued customers
- 2020 was an unprecedented year. 2021 promises to be an interesting year as our industry continues to
evolve. The BioTherapeutics Quarterly journal will continue the mission of providing you with current,
relative information in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of disease. We hope you find the topics

The first vaccines for prevention of COVID-19 in the United States were authorized for emergency use
by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and recommended by the Advisory Committee of
Immunization Practices (ACIP) in December 2020. However, demand for COVID-19 vaccine is
expected to exceed supply during the first months of the national COVID-19 vaccination program.

RNA vaccines - also called " mRNA " vaccines. You and your patients may have questions about how mRNA vaccines work

Professionals to Common Questions People May Have About COVID-19 Vaccines on page 34 suggests talking to your patients
about the vaccines and making a strong, effective recommendations while allowing time for the patients to ask questions.
Screening for colorectal cancer and for female breast and cervical cancers can effectively reduce deaths from these cancers. Yet many
preventative services, including cancer screening, remain underutilized in the United States. Preventing Breast, Cervical, and
Colorectal Cancer Deaths: Assessing the Impact of Increased Screening starting on page 10 discusses how the increased use of
screening from current levels to 100% would prevent an additional 2,821 deaths from breast cancer, 6,834 deaths from cervical
cancer, and 35,530 deaths from colorectal cancer over a lifetime of the respective single-year cohort.
