The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant
or Associate Professor level. Applicants must have an earned
Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or
related field with specialization in one or more of the following areas: VLSI, digital electronics, embedded systems, and

Texas Tech University and the Texas Tech University
Health Sciences Center have collaborated to expand research in neuroscience with an emphasis on multidisciplinary research. Two full professor positions are available
and will be based at Texas Tech University and involve joint
appointments with the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. A new 4,000 sf core facility with a Siemens
3-T MRI with functional and diffusion tensor capabilities
and 4,000 sf of support offices and laboratories is available. The footprint includes space for 2 additional fully
capable MRIs in the core facility. Candidates will be in any
Biological Science or Engineering department including
but not limited to Electrical Engineering, Biological Sciences, Psychology, and Human Development and Family
Studies. Support from other core facilities is available in
biotechnology, genomics and high performance computing. Both of these positions are intended to add critical
mass to our new Neuroimaging Institute and successful
applicants will be expected to work with current faculty to
grow this institute. A separate search will be initiated to
find a director for this institute. We are particularly interested in building on our strengths in neural and behavioral
biology including but not limited to drug and alcohol addiction, autism, aging, and brain development. Other research areas of functional imaging outside of neuroscience
may be considered.

THE ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT at the

The College of Engineering is seeking a dynamic, innovative leader for the position of Chair of the Electrical
and Computer Engineering Department. The Chair is responsible for overall departmental administration
and reports to the Dean of Engineering. The individual will provide departmental direction and leadership
in formulating academic and research initiatives that complement the strategic plans of the College and
University. The Chair will also facilitate and promote the development of interdisciplinary research partnerships, actively pursue advances in the quality of the undergraduate and graduate educational programs,
and assist in advancing the College's development and alumni relations work.
The individual should be an active researcher with a strong history of external funding in addition to being
recognized for distinguished contributions to electrical, computer or a related engineering field and possessing an exemplary international reputation. The College has risen rapidly in quality and distinction over
the past decade through the appointment of more then 30 leading scholars and the award of prestigious
foundation and government grants. The Chair would be expected to continue and capitalize upon this
exciting momentum and to identify areas of further development and growth.
One of three departments within the College, the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department consists of 45 faculty members, 200 graduate students and 250 undergraduates. Department faculty play key
roles in many of the College and University research centers, specifically the Photonics Center, two NSFsponsored Engineering Research Centers for Subsurface Sensing and Imaging Systems and for Smart
Lighting, the Center for Information and Systems Engineering, the Center for Computational Science,
a DHS-sponsored Center for Awareness and Localization of Explosives-Related Threats, the Center for
Space Physics, and the Center for Nanoscience and Nanobiotechnology. The department and its faculty
also serve vital roles in our cross-departmental graduate divisions for Systems Engineering and Materials
