SPOTLIGHT ON … Out of the White Coats Meet the PCRMC Medical Group’s newest physicians BOHDAN LEBEDOWICZ, M.D. Specialist, internal medicine “Internal medicine is called ‘the queen of medical science,’ ” says Bohdan Lebedowicz, M.D., who recently joined the PCRMC Medical Group as a specialist. “I take my interactions with patients very seriously. I want to do everything possible to improve their health.” Dr. Lebedowicz—better known by his nickname, “Dr. Dan”—says that he’s most fulﬁlled when he’s helping patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes and heart disease learn to cope and reach their full potential. After completing medical school in Poland and Germany, Dr. Lebedowicz studied English in Hawaii and completed his residency at West Virginia University in Morgantown. He moved to Rolla from Mount Vernon, Ill., where he also practiced internal medicine. Dr. Lebedowicz enjoys hiking with his wife and three children, ballroom dancing, tournament chess, badminton and collecting vintage motorcycles. As part of the PCRMC Medical Group, Dr. Lebedowicz works with a team of physicians. “I am very impressed with the group’s focus on patient satisfaction,” he says. “When people are sick, they need to receive a lot of tender loving care, and the hospital provides that.” Dr. Dan’s ofﬁce is in Suite 480 of the PCRMC Medical Ofﬁce Building. TED KORECKIJ, M.D. Orthopedic surgeon “I chose orthopedics as my specialty because it ﬁts well with my temperament,” says Ted Koreckij, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon with 28 years of experience who has joined The Frederick Knee Clinic at Phelps County Regional Medical Center (PCRMC). “I like to work with my hands, and I enjoy the engineering aspects of orthopedics.” Dr. Koreckij completed medical school and his residency in orthopedics at the University of Connecticut, where he met his wife, Maria Albano, M.D., a Festus native. The couple began their medical practices there, and also raised ﬁve children. “My life has revolved around my work and family,” Dr. Koreckij says. “I don’t have many hobbies, outside of woodworking; probably about 95 percent of orthopedists do woodworking of some sort.
