As once-weekly insulin products may substantially shift the
T2D treatment paradigm in the near future, technological
advances including continuous glucose monitoring (CGM),
connected insulin pens (CIPs), insulin pumps, automated
insulin delivery (AID) algorithms, and mobile apps will
need to be appropriately integrated to better manage
patients on insulin therapy. However, the complexity and
rapid evolution of the technology landscape for T2D
serves as a barrier to implementation for both patients
and treating clinicians. Through case-based discussions,
this symposium will equip clinicians with evidence-based
knowledge and increased competence in utilizing novel
technological advances to optimize use of long-acting
basal insulin therapies for T2D management.

cardiovascular events, a significant number of patients

or cannot tolerate statin therapy and those who are
on these agents often do not have therapy advanced
as recommended by clinical practice guidelines. In
addition, nonstatin and combination therapies continue
to be underutilized.

the latest evidence on comprehensive treatment targets,
including Lp(a), and the place in therapy for all currently
available agents in the lipid armamentarium. Join them
