The redeveloped facility will provide increased public parking services to meet the growing demand in the west end of the City as a result of an increase in residential and commercial developments. It will also support the use of the Perth Arena Stadium when completed. The brief for the City’s Off Street Parking Unit such as standards, requirements and design were given to Hames Sharley architects. This included bigger car bays and brighter lighting levels in excess of Australian standards. In addition, expanded use of state-ofthe-art technology and signage was a requirement to fulfill the brief. City of Perth Parking (CPP) invested in new car parking facilities to increase the level of convenience for their customers by offering innovative, state of the art facilities. The $35 million investment in the Elder Street car park is a prime example of this. The Elder Street Car Park showcases CPP’s credentials in innovative car park build. The completed project has produced a harmonic contrast between natural concrete and steel against the high tech modern appearance of the powder-coated facade treatment. The perforated facade treatment

allows abundant natural ventilation and sunlight to flood the car park, producing a pleasant, non-claustrophobic experience as patrons circulate within the vibrant colors of the car park. 
