the role social media can play in the timeshare industry, attendees relaxed at the Welcome Reception and Product Showcase, sponsored by Interval International and RCI. This reception provided attendees and sponsors alike the opportunity to network, learn about the latest products, and meet new clients while socializing with industry friends and colleagues. A new pilot program featured at this event, “Speed Meet,” was where regional developers visited sponsors individually to create relationships and learn about products one-on-one. After the reception, attendees traveled to the Waterplace Restaurant for “An Evening with ARDA-New England.” Good spirits soared while conversation flowed, and the evening was capped with an awards presentation—including the First Annual Legislator of the Year Award, given to Massachusetts State Senator Benjamin B. Downing and Massachusetts State Representative Daniel E. Bosley, for their outstanding leadership in support of the passage of non-judicial forfeiture legislation. Recognition was also given to ARDA’s Resort Owners Coalition (ARDA-ROC), acknowledging the strong legislative partnership that has been created between ARDA-New England, ARDA State Affairs, and ARDA-ROC to promote and protect the legislative needs of timeshare owners
