Histoires de Pages - Let’s talk layouts / Issue #53 - SEPTEMBER-OCTOBER 2013 - (Page 90)

A mini-album with labels You have a busy schedule and little time to devote to scrapbooking? Here is the project that you need! In one hour ten minutes by the clock, we invite you to make a tangy mini-album. by Gaëlle Fauglas To achieve this mini-album, I used the labels that you can download and print in this issue (see page 99). With their bright colors and textured effects, you will create your project in a flash and without getting your hands dirty. You will just have to add your photos, embellishments and your journaling. Structure and covers I chose to work each page separately, and link them together only in the end. So I constantly had to be careful not to stick embellishments on a width of about 2 cm (0.8") in the place of the future binding. I began by creating the two covers. They measure 11.5 x 14.5 cm (4.5" x 5.7") and so are slightly larger than the inside pages. On a seemingly plain green cardstock, I glued a white paper bag that I had cropped first. Then I placed the yellow label with two staples for a Freestyle effect. The artwork is very simple, due to a label which is by itself very elaborate, with texture effects. Over it, I stuck a label, a title, a flower, a wooden pen, a butterfly which had been cut out using the Cameo machine, two colored chips and a bit of masking tape. I used a pen to write a date. Within the last cover, I glued the green label. So both covers are quite thick and give consistency to the album. The inside pages are the size of the labels. 90 HISTOIRES DE PAGES - SEPTEMBER / OCTOBER 2013
