good times ahead
2013 is going to be a lucky year for me. That is the power of positive

thinking as I face a change that warms—yet breaks—my heart. For those of you
who know my dear friend and colleague Jeff Brown as HD’s sales manager, a
position he has filled with great strength for the last six years, it is with pride
that I announce his promotion to show director for another Nielsen brand,
Imprinted Sportswear Shows. Jeff has been a loyal and trustworthy member of
the HD team and he will be missed, but I wish him all the best in this next stage
of his career.
Looking forward to this year, we have a fantastic program slated for those
able to join us at La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad, California, for HD
Summit. The resort is well known for its commitment to self-improvement
through the healing powers of nature, and we are well known for rejuvenating
your mind and inspiration—a powerful combination. I hope to see you there.
In May, HD Expo will embrace its new home at the Mandalay Bay in Las
Vegas. This beautiful facility will give the show a fresh look and create an
inviting experience for all. We are excited about our brand new opening night
party at the House of Blues, which will feature live entertainment, cocktails,
and hors d’oeuvres. Bring your dancing shoes and let’s have some fun!
Also new to HD Expo this year is our Social Hub, a lounge area in the
center of the show floor that will serve as a prime
gathering place. Join us there for our Green
Conversations with experts, discussions with top
chefs, and demonstrations from local mixologists.
It will be the perfect spot to rest your feet, grab a
bite to eat, and do some networking.
The full HD Expo conference program is
now available online at hdexpo.com, and we have
many sessions to keep you up to date on all the
latest industry trends, including our annual HD/
ISHP Town Hall/Owners’ Roundtable where you
can meet face-to-face with owners, developers,
and brand executives for a candid discussion.
