Cask does oysters, rock shrimp, a fresh-as-canbe Florida fish-fry plate, and they do pork exceptionally well. Even the pimento cheese, a winner that's served in a mason jar with a side of freshbaked collard bread, gets a pork topping called ham jam, which is little savory-sweet nuggets of ham cooked down and caramelized with onions. At the bar, indulge in an original concoction such as a Jealous Monk or Back to Mezcali. For lakeside dining, you'd be hard-pressed to find a more peaceful setting with fine food than Hillstone Restaurant. Before your meal, lounge in one of the big Adirondack chairs surrounded by lush greenery, and watch the sun set on the far side of the lake as boats pass by. Vino connoisseurs have a lot to like at The Wine Room. Located on Park Avenue, this venue earned a 2013 "Best Award of Excellence" from Wine Spectator. There are 156 wines on tap. Purchase a debit card, and you can casually stroll and select a large number of tastes in 1-, 2.5-, or 5-ounce pours. The Wine Bar feels like a party and an education rolled into one. Winter Park is home to three notable museums, all within walking distance of each other. The Morse Museum holds what's called "the most comprehensive and interesting Tiffany collection." After 30 years as head of the department of sculpture at the Art Institute of Chicago, Polasek retired to Winter Park and built a home on Lake Osceola. His home is now the museum, and the property boasts a chapel and a stunning sculpture garden overlooking the lake. If you enjoy movies, viewing one in Winter Park could be a first-time experience. The Enzian Theater, a few minutes' drive from Park Avenue, is a funky two-story house where audiences sit in rolling lounge chairs and order food, craft beers, wine, and cocktails while the previews roll. The food and drinks are first-rate. Enzian's patio bar, appropriately named Eden, sits on a glorious, lush garden, accented by colossal 400-year-old oaks.
