The 10-point's rack currently is at Whitetail Country Taxidermy in St. Marys, where the nearly symmetrical antlers will be mounted. But before it got there, Sister John Paul did enter it into the "7th Annual Big Buck Contest," held for residents of Elk and McKean counties. While it didn't make the final cut, her buck remains the largest ever taken in her family and at the Month of Sundays Lodge. Although she became at least a temporary "rock star" to her students after taking that huge 10-point, Sister John Paul continues to pursue the monastic tradition to which she and Sister Jacinta have committed their lives. She plans to hunt as long as she can, and would like to hunt wild turkeys and out West. Considering her dad hunted into his late 80s, Sister John Paul has plenty of time ahead of her, God willing, to make those things happen. MARCH 2016 17
