1965 Ford Mustang Fastback
im Kelly, a Village of Lynnhaven resident, has kept cars for about five years before getting replacements. But one car has managed to stay in the family garage for more than 40 years, a 1965 Ford Mustang fastback.

Q. Where did your father find the car?
A: He bought it at a dealer in Darien, Conn. We lived in Greenwich (at the time). He just liked that whole style. I had a ‘66 Mustang coupe. He liked the fastback lines. It was not a good performer, but it had good looks. Nine years ago I had the body fixed up and painted. There’s no plastic or Bondo. I had it restored so it can be on the road. Up in New England, you’ve got not-so-nice roads. I just had the engine overhauled last winter. The gaskets had worn out, and the oil leaks had leaks. There’s still a little bit more to do in the interior. It needs a touch-up of paint here and there, which myself. mechanic. don’t trust I will do myself. I’m not a mechanic. I don’t trust myself. myself. mechanic. keep I’m not a mechanic. I keep (the car) good and clean. care for way. like (cars), clean. I care for it that way. I like looking at (cars), like driving I like driving them.

Q. How long have you had the car?
A: My dad (John) bought the car in 1965, and we’ve had it ever since. After my dad died, my mom (Anne) drove for time. gave keys. it for a long time. She then gave me the keys. It’s got 64,000 original miles. The car is all original, The repainted. color, but it has been repainted. It’s the original color, metallic blue. car. blue. It’s just a nice little car.
