Welcome back to Salt Lake City and an
exciting new era for Outdoor Retailer.
WELCOME TO OUTDOOR
Retailer Snow Show 2023 and
welcome back to Salt Lake City!
This vibrant destination has been
a rich part of Outdoor Retailer's
history and is sparkling with
new hotels, restaurants, airport
terminals, light rail routes, and
more. The whole community is
ready with open arms to greet
you this week, and we're looking
forward to celebrating our industry
with you and this city.
As we return to Salt Lake,
we're excited to launch a fresh
Outdoor Retailer format: We
shifted dates and enhanced
the demo experience. We are
introducing a new leadership
conference, debuting a consumer
festival, and creating unique new
opportunities for the industry
to engage with each other-and
directly with consumers.
This transformation is because
of your feedback. Business has
changed in today's $862 billion
outdoor industry (according to
the U.S. Bureau of Economic
Analysis), and you're working on
earlier product deadlines. So we
want to make sure we're providing
you with the most relevant
and efficient platform to be successful.
Outdoor Retailer Winter
and Summer are now both at the
beginning of the respective sales
seasons and in position to support
the greater buy/sell ecosys6
tem.
Plus, a renewed partnership
with Winter Sports Market will
facilitate a more streamlined
industry calendar.
It all started this week with
the debut of The Summit by
Outdoor Retailer at Brighton and
Solitude. Starting next year, this
immersive on-mountain experience
will be integrated into our
new January conference, staging
in conjunction with WSM. With
the mountains just up the road,
we have the opportunity to get
out and demo products on the
snow and in the elements they
were built for.
IMMERSE YOURSELF IN THE
INDUSTRY
These three days on the show
floor will offer prime time to
connect, do business, learn,
and mingle. The industry's top
speakers and innovators will
provide insights for best practices
through education sessions
at The Camp, Trend + Design
Center, and The Ranger Station,
along with keynote breakfast and
lunch sessions with SIA and OIA.

The new Hyatt Regency Salt
Lake, connected to the Salt Palace,
will host those breakfast and
lunch sessions. Plus, the winners
of the fifth annual Outdoor Retailer
Innovation Awards will be

unveiled on Night 2, Jan. 11, in the
Hyatt's Salt Lake Ballroom. We're
excited to have L. Renee Blount
here to host the ceremony. Read

24 and see all of the products in
person in the Innovation Gallery.
Also, don't miss the OR Homecoming
Block Party on Night 1,
Jan. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. outside
across the street from the Salt
Palace. You'll want to be there for
the pep rally, drone show, food,
drinks, and fun.
THE EVOLUTION CONTINUES
Next, we'll turn our attention to
warmer weather and our summer
events. Outdoor Retailer
Summer will be back in the Salt
Palace from June 19 to 21. Leading
up to and during the summer
event, you'll have an opportunity
to get involved with the new
Business With Purpose advocacy
programs, including a familiarization
tour in May and community
stewardship projects around
the show.
The weekend prior to the summer
show is the debut of Outdoor
Adventure X-Learn how to
get involved at outdooradventurex.com.
This new consumer
adventure festival will take place
at Snowbasin Resort, Pineview
Reservoir, and Anderson Cove
Campground. It all creates the
ultimate B2B2C experience with
a week of engagement, outdoor
activities, and commerce.
And in November, our winter
B2B event rebrands as Outdoor Retailer
Winter to kick off the season
in the Salt Palace. We'll be ready to
serve you and the greater industry
at the front of the fall/winter sales
season, aligning with earlier deadlines.
We're also partnering with
Winter Sports Market to create the
best possible buying experience for
the snowsports industry.
Outdoor Retailer has always
been a resource for the outdoor
industry, a space for innovation
and inspiration, for ideas and
advocacy. We're committed to
creating meaningful ways to
cultivate the togetherness and
connections you need. We're so
