AHEPA 78 Housing Brings Joy
to Residents at Holiday Party

For the 22nd consecutive year, AHEPA 78 Housing Corporation hosted
its annual Residents' Christmas Banquet and Party, December 11, in
Merrillville, Ind. After a luncheon, 210 residents and guests enjoyed
an afternoon of holiday spirit with delicious food, visiting with neighbors and gifts for all. Famed Chicago accordionist, vocalist, and
entertainer, Frank Rossi, provided the spirited entertainment in the
Hellenic Banquet Center where residents enjoyed dancing and singing
Christmas songs.
In addition, members of Merrillville's Junior GOYA entertained
AHEPA 78 Apartment residents with Christmas carols, December 16,
under the sponsorship of the AHEPA 78 Housing Board. Led by the
youth group's sponsor, Susan Tsagris, they spent a Sunday afternoon
visiting each of the six AHEPA Apartments, spreading Christmas cheer
that included distributing holiday goodies and singing traditional and
favorite holiday tunes.

During the winter, Albuquerque's AHEPA 501
Apartment residents responded to the need for warm
hats and scarves for the less fortunate members of the
community in New Mexico.
The local Daughters of Penelope chapter raised
money to purchase yarn for the residents to make these
beautiful hats and scarfs.
Mary Shortell, service coordinator for Phases I and II,
spearheaded this effort to ensure residents, who wanted
to help those less fortunate, had the resources to put
their skills to work. The AHEPA family of Albuquerque
is proud to have residents who are very willing to help
others through hard times.
