Exhibition Update Lingerie Americas holds on Lingerie Americas will be staging its two summer editions once again in New York and in Las Vegas where it will be teaming up with WWDMagic for the second time. With the entry on the industry stage of a strong competitor the future of lingerie trade shows in the US has yet to be defined. Lingerie Americas NY Founded in August 2002 Lingerie Americas Trade Show mission statement has always been to provide the industry with a premium networking platform. Now at its 13th edition in New York, where it became the first truly established lingerie trade show in the US, the event which will be attended by the Promincor French brands, will also feature returning brands such as Andrés Sardà, Anita, Badgley Mishka, Blush, Christine Vancouver, Eberjey, Mary Green, Natori, Prima Donna and Pluto among others. In store for this NY edition Lingerie Americas has a highly awaited Runway Show which will be held on August 4th at Cipriani on 23rd Street at 6:30 pm. Opened by prominent brands such as Aubade, Barbara , Empreinte and Simone Pérèle the show will be an elaborate choreographed production with the newest French trends in intimate apparel and swimwear, followed by the new looks for spring/summer 09 by American brands. In addition, throughout the three-day fair, buyers will have the opportunity to attend several compelling educational seminars designed to maximize their retail success. The Best of Intima’s CEO, Francesca Spinetta will coordinate a seminar entitled “Building business during hard times” introduced by Mercedes Gonzales on Sunday 3rd at 3.30 pm; while the Eveden Inc. Fit School will once again present its seminar where buyers will learn basic to advanced techniques for fitting full-busted and full-figured customers. Lingerie Americas Las Vegas For the second time Lingerie Americas will team up with WWDMagic for its Las Vegas edition. For the first time Magic will be held over a three-day period instead of its usual four-day format, answering exhibitors’ and buyers’ call for a shorter event. Lingerie Americas at WWDMagic will open its doors on Monday August 25th and run through Wednesday 27th. This second edition will feature a runway show in conjunction with ISAM (International Swimwear & Activewear Market). The ISAM section of the trade show will also be located in the Las Vegas Hilton, next to Lingerie Americas, conveniently making this a one-stop shop for intimate apparel and swimwear buyers. The runway shows will take place daily at the Center Stage in the Magic Convention Center. In addition over 40 free educational seminars will be conducted by industry experts. Further, The Best of Intima will be welcoming buyers in its Lounge Area at the Metropolitan Pavilion entrance and present an on-going presentation of the BSA 2008 finalists and winners.
