INDUSTRY NEWS Noteworthy SEGD Names Board Members The Society for Environmental Graphic Design (SEGD), Washington, DC, has appointed seven members to its board of directors. They include President Amy Lukas (Infinite Scale; Salt Lake City), Patrick Angelel (CREO Industrial Arts; Everett, WA), Sander Baumann (designworkplan; Amsterdam), Moira Gemmill (Victoria & Albert Museum; London); Dan Moalli (Design and Production Inc.; Lorton, VA), Julie Vogel (Kate Keating Assoc.; San Francisco); Leslie Wolke (Leslie Wolke Consulting; Austin, TX) and Joe Zenas (Thinkwell Group; Burbank, CA). Mutoh Celebrates 60th Anniversary Mutoh (Phoenix) is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2012. Mutoh Industries Ltd. (Tokyo) was founded in 1952 as a manufacturer and distributor of mechanical-drafting products. In the ’80s, the company began to develop CAD plotters for the architectural and CAD/CAM industries. Today, the company is known as a manufacturer and distributor of wide-format printers, and has recently expanded its U.S. presence, having added offices in Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston and Atlanta. distributor for Latin America. Everbrite Names Wahl VP/GM Everbrite LLC (Milwaukee) is announcing Sandra Wahl’s appointment as vice president and general manager of manufacturing and national accounts. Wahl will oversee the company’s South Milwaukee manufacturing facility, which is one of seven production facilities. Wahl has spent 15 years with Everbrite, having originally joined as a customer-service specialist. Most recently, she was a vice president of national accounts and customer service. Epson Chooses PrintLat for Distribution Epson (Long Beach, CA) has named PrintLat (Miramar, FL) its master Signs by Tomorrow Hires Frost Signs by Tomorrow (Columbia, MD) has named Ron Frost its franchise business consultant for the central U.S. Frost, who brings 24 years of experience in mechanical engineering, sales and management to the company, will help develop and grow franchises. He and his wife previously operated an independent signshop in Cape Coral, FL. Frost has also worked with Gerber Scientific Products, Grimco and Clarke Systems. USSC Redesigns Logo The United States Sign Council (Bristol, PA) has introduced a new logo for Sign World Intl., its annual exposition in Atlantic City. The updated, modernized image replaces the drum-major logo. The new design was created by Richard Crawford (Mercer Sign Consultants; Doylestown, PA) and Mike Sterenko (Bartush Signs; Orwigsburg, PA).
