The chapter held its annual scholarship fundraiser and awards
ceremony in October at the Powell House. Keynote speaker
Jonathan Deutsch, professor and founding director of Drexel's
Center for Hospitality and Sport Management, discussed the
reach of hospitality in the local community. Congratulations
to the 2015 scholarship recipients Rebecca Krick, Temple
University; Maria Perocco, Drexel University; and Daniel
Jarosz, Widener University.
The chapter also held its annual community service
event at the new location of Dress for Success Philadelphia,
designed by Kara Angotti and Tanya Culmer, which
included a networking session, tour of the new facility,
and refreshments provided by Wolf-Gordon. In November,
members met at the Granary Apartments to tour the
recently completed project with DAS Architects, followed by

In November, the chapter sponsored scholarship winner Kate
Martsul of Kendall College to attend the 2015 BDNY Show. "The
conference was not only about the design but also about current
influential trends in the industry," says Martsul. "I absolutely can
apply all the knowledge I gained in the future to my career."
In November, the chapter hosted its second annual roundtable
event at the DL Couch showroom in the Merchandise Mart-a great
success with many experienced professionals in the hospitality
industry to answer questions and network.
