The Wildwood Food Pantry and the Lady Lake Christian Food
Pantry are just two of the many food pantries in Lake,
Sumter and Marion Counties that are here to help, supported by
generous members of the community doing what they can to
help. As Carrol said, we are fortunate to live in an area filled with
generosity and a willingness to help in times of necessity.

"The thing about food pantries is we do go through
a lot of food," Carrol said. "One day we're tripping over
food, but by the end of the next week, we might not have
any. It's hard, but luckily we have a nice reserve."
One thing Don says they do not currently need?
Peanut butter. Through multiple donations, the
Wildwood Food Pantry has hundreds of jars of peanut
butter - now they just need some jelly, Don says with a
laugh.
"Don (from the Wildwood Food Pantry) called me one
day and said, 'Do you need peanut butter? I've got 3,000
jars of peanut butter,'" Carrol said, laughing. "He's got
more peanut butter than they know what to do with -
it's a good problem to have."
Even though need has not been as high as expected
over the past few months, both pantries are ready and
able to handle an increase in need for food should it ever
arise for the communities they serve.
For anyone interested in donating, Carrol says
monetary donations are crucial in recent days as that
allows them to purchase items to fill in supply gaps,
however, any and all donations will be gladly accepted
and put to good use. For more information on donating,
