Industry Products Biohit has taken the following measures to ensure the purity of the tip production for years and will continue to do so: • Using pure virgin polypropylene as raw material for tips (not recycled plastics) • Tip production process is highly automated, human contact is minimized • Personnel are wearing special clothing, e.g. gloves, masks and hair nets • Tip trays and refill packs are wrapped in air-tight plastic • An independent laboratory tests each certified tip lot for DNase, RNase and endotoxins • In addition, a selection of tip products are e-beam presterilized We also perform regular purity checks required by ISO 14644 to conform to the ISO 8 classification. The ISO 14644 Cleanroom Certificate can be found on www.biohit. com. Biohit recently launched the complete line of SafetySpace Filter Tips, which allow more space between the sample and the filter than conventional filter tips in order to prevent liquid from contacting the filter – which guarantees better accuracy for pipetting! They are particularly useful in: • pipetting foaming liquids like buffers and proteins • pipetting solvents • reverse pipetting • multiple dispensing functions of electronic pipettes The tips are packed in colorcoded single tray racks. They are certified DNase, RNase and endotoxin free and are e-beam pre-sterilized. These tips have been designed to meet high quality and purity demands. They are an ideal tool for any scientist and particularly in molecular biology, microbiology and cell culture applications, as well as radioactive work. The redesigned tips offer the best possible fit with Biohit pipettes, but they are also compatible with most other pipette brands. Following the recent acquisition of Dynamet Inc. of Kalamazoo, MI, and combined with concurrent in-house development, two types of Tubular Drag Conveyors have been added to Spiroflow’s range of conveyors. They include the new “CABLEflow”™ Tubular Drag Conveyor and the “DYNAFLOW”™ Tubular Chain Drag Conveyor. CABLEflow”™ Tubular Cable Drag Conveyors are a development of their tried and tested Aero Mechanical Conveyors operating with reduced clearances and reduced running speeds. Developed by Spiroflow, the new line of “CABLEflow”™ conveyors are designed for gentle handling applications and installations requiring conveying in multiple planes. They can transfer friable bulk products from single or multiple in-feed points to single or multiple discharge points with little or no damage. Applications include the coffee industry, where they are used to convey coffee beans, and the snack food industry, where they are used to move friable finished products. Also now available from Spiroflow is a range of “DYNAFLOW”™ Tubular Chain Drag Conveyors. The “DYNAFLOW”™ range is also a mechanical drag conveyor system operating within the confines of a pipe. However, the discs that move material along the pipe are heavyduty discs connected by articulated Spiroflow Systems, Inc. Spiroflow Systems Adds New Range of Cable and Chain Driven Tubular Drag Conveyors hen it comes to conveyors for dry bulk solids, whether in powder, granule, flake, pellet or lump in bulk quantities or as minor ingredients/additives, Spiroflow Systems, Inc. offers a customized W Be sure to mention, “I read about it in Food Protection Trends”!
